Senior Quality Engineer (Python)

Location: Portugal; fully remote outside Porto, Maia, Matosinhos, Gondomar, Valongo, and Vila Nova de Gaia; candidates residing within these municipalities must work in the office 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Design, write, and maintain end-to-end automated tests for the hirify.global Virtual Contact Center application.
• Build and maintain automated tests for web frontends and REST APIs.
• Analyze framework and product logs, investigate failures to root cause, and improve weak automated flows.
• Extend and modernize the Python automation framework, including CI/CD integration, parallel execution, stability, and flaky-test reduction.
• Build internal tools that make testing faster and more reliable, and track automation efficiency.
• Partner with Development, DevOps, and TechOps and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in test automation, including ownership of framework design or technical decisions.
• Hands-on experience with Python 3.
• Solid knowledge of programming techniques and algorithms, including object-oriented programming and multithreading.
• Experience automating REST APIs and/or SDK-type interfaces using technologies such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong Linux skills.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
• Experience with Git and JIRA.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a collaborative approach to cross-team work.

Nice to have

• Experience with Selenium.
• Experience designing or extending test automation frameworks such as pytest, Robot Framework, or custom frameworks.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS/GCP cloud environments.
• Knowledge of contact center, telephony, or CCaaS technologies, including WebRTC, SIP, or CTI.
• Experience mentoring other engineers.
