Project Director - EPC

Location: Remote, with frequent travel and extended periods at project locations within Germany and Europe; listed location: Milano

Gross annual salary no less than: €70,000, plus eligibility for an individual or collective variable incentive based on predetermined performance objectives.

What you will do

• Own the safe, successful, and profitable delivery of a strategic EPC/EPCI mega project from contract handover through completion and close-out.
• Set the project vision, execution strategy, governance model, priorities, accountabilities, decision rights, and escalation routes.
• Lead, coordinate, and develop multiple Project Managers and an integrated multidisciplinary project organisation.
• Integrate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, marine and land installation, testing, commissioning, contract management, project controls, quality, and HSE.
• Manage customer, partner, supplier, subcontractor, and senior stakeholder relationships, including governance forums and critical negotiations.
• Own financial performance, commercial and contractual strategy, risk and opportunity management, recovery plans, reporting, and lessons learned.

Requirements

• 8–15 years of progressive Project Management experience in complex EPC/EPCI environments, including significant senior project leadership experience.
• Experience leading a large-scale or mega project through a Project Management team responsible for multiple scopes or work packages.
• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary, and multicultural project organisations in a matrix environment.
• Strong understanding of P&L, forecasting, margin, cash flow, working capital, contingencies, and risk exposure.
• Ability to influence and negotiate with customer executives, joint-venture or consortium partners, authorities, and senior internal stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership presence, judgement, and decision-making in complex, high-pressure, and politically sensitive environments.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or another relevant discipline.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Availability to travel frequently and spend extended periods at project locations within Germany and Europe.

Nice to have

• German language capability.
• PMI PMP, IPMA Level A/B, APM Chartered Project Professional, or equivalent certification.
• Experience in submarine cable systems, offshore operations, HVDC projects, offshore wind, or energy infrastructure.
