AI Data Scientist (Generative AI)

Location: Spring, Texas, United States of America

Base pay: $130,700–$205,200 annually, with additional bonus and/or equity opportunities for US candidates.

What you will do

• Develop high-complexity Generative AI models that surface insights, define success measures, and track model performance.
• Create monitoring metrics and recommendations for improving models and digital solutions.
• Develop scalable cloud- and edge-based solutions using large language, multimodal, and other Generative AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and development teams to identify business value, communicate insights through visualizations, and implement delivered solutions.
• Lead data science project teams, review designs, models, and data compliance, and represent the data science team in complex development projects.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to less experienced staff.

Requirements

• PhD related to AI or a master’s degree in computer science or a related field, plus 5+ years of experience with Generative AI and related technologies, including machine learning, data analytics, and statistical modeling.
• Strong foundation in data science and core machine learning concepts.
• Experience with large language models, multimodal models, prompt engineering, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and search engines.
• Ability to work with development teams and business units on scalable cloud-based business applications.
• Experience explaining technical concepts such as LLMs to non-technical audiences and driving stakeholder discussions clearly and respectfully.
• Mastery of English is required.
• Ability to propose pragmatic solutions that are as simple as possible, including solutions that do not require AI.

Nice to have

• Programming language certification in SQL, Python, or a similar language.
• Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning, Azure Prompt Flow, Python, LangChain, Streamlit, and Docker.
• Experience on software development teams, especially with cloud-based business applications.
• Experience working in distributed, diverse teams and in small, fast-paced startups.
