Senior Financial Control Analyst (Fintech)

Location: London or Cardiff office, or distributed working within the UK with ad hoc meetings in London

Salary: £56,000–£75,000 per year plus performance-linked incentive awards

What you will do

• Manage month-end close and group consolidation with the internal Finance team.
• Prepare management commentary and translate complex financial information into clear language.
• Optimize accounting systems, including SAP S4/HANA, to reduce manual reporting and improve scalability.
• Drive financial control and process improvements through automation and AI adoption.
• Support year-end audits, financial reporting, product reviews, accounting policies and banking-platform implementation.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and financial static data, and support forecasting, valuations, bank transfers, transfer pricing and tax policy research.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with a few years of post-qualification experience, ideally including financial reporting or financial control and retail banking.
• Strong understanding of technical accounting standards and key financial controls.
• High attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment.
• Ability to understand banking products and the banking and regulatory landscape.
• Self-starter comfortable handling operational finance work and investor reporting.
• Ability to explain complex information simply to people from diverse backgrounds.
• Interest in data and process improvement; SQL skills are useful.
• Motivation to improve and innovate processes.
