Senior Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Remote within listed US states and Canadian provinces; hybrid schedule required for employees living within 30 miles of an office location.

What you will do

• Own the monthly revenue close, including revenue recognition schedules, cost of revenue, gross profit review, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Apply US GAAP and ASC 606; review contracts and maintain revenue and prepayment schedules for renewals, product changes, and accelerations.
• Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice review, vendor inquiries, statement reconciliation, credit card reviews, and AP close.
• Reconcile Salesforce orders with billing and revenue records, and reconcile commissions, prepaid expenses, and prepaid insurance.
• Support collections, bad debt reserves, write-offs, audits, PBC schedules, and capitalized software ASC 350 analysis.
• Improve finance systems and processes while reviewing and mentoring junior accountants and contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and hands-on ASC 606 revenue recognition experience required.
• 2–4 years of experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP required, plus Salesforce experience required.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including reconciliations, pivot tables, and lookups.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with Sales and RevOps on billing and collection issues.
• Detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to meet month-end close deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Public accounting or SaaS experience.
• Experience with Campfire or another modern close and revenue recognition tool.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or security SaaS.
• Experience with usage-based billing, multi-currency or FX, AWS Marketplace billing, or software capitalization under ASC 350-40.
