Senior Accountant

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week

What you will do

• Own the procure-to-pay cycle, including purchasing, purchase orders, vendor invoices, accounts payable, payment runs, and vendor relationships.
• Oversee employee reimbursements and corporate card transactions, including policy compliance, documentation, coding, and offshore support.
• Maintain bank and credit card reconciliations, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, calculate and post accruals, and support the monthly close.
• Perform income statement variance analysis, investigate fluctuations, and document key drivers.
• Prepare intercompany journal entries across domestic and international subsidiaries in NetSuite and support foreign currency and intercompany AP accounting.
• Improve PTP workflows through AI and automation, support billing and collections, and maintain process documentation.

Requirements

• Accounting degree or equivalent accounting education.
• 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including accounts payable and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Hands-on NetSuite experience and proficiency in Excel.
• Regular use of AI tools, with examples of improving efficiency, accuracy, or processes.
• Ability to work onsite in the Chicago office five days a week.
• Ability to work effectively with vendors, budget owners, and offshore teammates across time zones.
• Experience working in Salesforce and administering expense or spend management systems.
• Experience implementing finance systems, workflows, or policies, plus a background in SaaS or high-growth technology companies.
