Senior Solution Architect

Location: Remote from EU countries; the candidate must be an EU national. Other location: Brussels, Belgium.

What you will do

• Design comprehensive business and technical architectures for digital solutions and define measurable non-functional requirements.
• Gather and analyze requirements with stakeholders, select technologies and frameworks, and maintain solution context, C4, API, data, threat, and deployment artifacts.
• Define integration patterns, data flows, API standards, observability, and resiliency patterns for scalable and maintainable system interactions.
• Guide development teams, provide technical leadership, and conduct architecture and code reviews against enterprise and secure coding standards, including OWASP.
• Support security architecture covering identity management, secrets handling, encryption, and STRIDE-based threat modelling.
• Identify technical risks, assess emerging technologies, and incorporate suitable solutions into the architecture.

Requirements

• More than 15 years of IT experience and Senior/Expert level.
• Proficiency in systems and software architecture design, enterprise applications, middleware, architecture governance, documentation, and reviews.
• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or OVH, with the ability to use native services to minimize custom development.
• Knowledge of microservices, API management, REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, database management, and data modelling.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD practices, including GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and standards, including ISO 27001, OWASP, and Zero Trust, plus networking concepts and protocols.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, and metrics.
• Proven experience with Axon Server, Kafka, Elasticsearch, and an API Gateway such as WSO2 API, Amazon API Gateway, Azure API Gateway, or Google Cloud Apigee.
• In-depth knowledge of CSDR and the ability to collaborate across teams, communicate architectural concepts, simplify technical architectures for business stakeholders, anticipate future needs, and secure stakeholder buy-in.
• Must be an EU national due to access to sensitive data.
