Commodity Management Expediting

Location: Germany, with locations including Erlangen, Berlin, Muelheim an der Ruhr, and Hamburg. Flexible and remote work is available.

What you will do

• Coordinate global resource allocation, demand, and deployment of expediting and inspection services for the Gas Services Central NewApp and Services business.
• Monitor supplier capacity, production progress, and manufacturing schedules; coordinate on-site expediting and inspections to secure delivery and quality commitments.
• Identify supply chain bottlenecks and risks, develop recovery plans, drive corrective actions, and support alternative sourcing and logistics solutions.
• Work with Product Lines, Commodity Management, Logistics, Quality, and Engineering to resolve technical, operational, and administrative delivery issues.
• Track supplier performance, maintain expediting tools and KPIs, and prepare status reports and risk assessments.
• Analyze delivery and supply chain data, identify improvement opportunities, support supplier development, and contribute to long-term commodity strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Longstanding professional experience in procurement, expediting, supplier management, or supply chain management within an international industrial environment, preferably in energy or heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of supplier performance management, production planning, delivery scheduling, logistics, and supply chain risk mitigation.
• Experience in contract management, supplier negotiations, and resolving delivery-related issues with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems and experience with data analysis, KPI tracking, and reporting.
• Fluent German and English skills required, with the ability to coordinate with local and international suppliers.
