Procurement & Supply Chain Manager (Advanced Hardware)

What you will do

• Build and lead the Procurement & Supply Chain function, including strategy, processes, tools, workflows, and operating standards.
• Develop and manage a supplier ecosystem for optical, laser, mechanical, electrical, and other advanced hardware components.
• Lead supplier selection, RFQs, pricing and commercial negotiations, lead-time agreements, framework contracts, and Joint Development Agreements.
• Support Product and Engineering teams from procurement request through purchase order, delivery, supplier follow-up, integration, and testing.
• Manage supplier qualification, performance, quality, compliance, supply capacity, component availability, delivery risks, and mitigation plans.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, leadership, and external suppliers while building reporting and scaling the function and future team.

Requirements

• Significant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or technical purchasing, ideally in complex engineering, hardware, deep-tech, industrial technology, or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience building or significantly improving procurement processes and supplier-management practices in a growing organization.
• Experience managing technically complex sourcing activities and translating engineering requirements into commercial and supplier strategies.
• A strong track record negotiating supplier agreements, pricing, delivery terms, and commercial contracts, including high-value and strategically important supplier relationships.
• Understanding of how to balance cost, quality, lead time, technical risk, and long-term supplier reliability.
• Experience developing supplier qualification frameworks, evaluating supplier performance, and managing supply-chain risks and constraints.
• Highly organized, process-oriented, independent, and comfortable creating scalable workflows in ambiguous situations.
• Strong cross-functional communication and influencing skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Confident English communication is required. German language skills are an advantage.
