Data Engineer (Spark/Flink)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week at the client's office in Malmö, Sweden; commuting is possible during the first 3 months, after which relocation to Sweden is required.

Salary: 750–900 SEK per hour (300–360 PLN per hour) on B2B.

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Spark and Flink.
• Design, develop, and improve data solutions used across multiple teams.
• Develop scalable backend APIs that enable efficient access to data.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to architectural improvements and technical initiatives.
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of data solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders; participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of commercial experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong Python skills and strong Java or Scala programming skills.
• Solid backend development experience and strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site at the client’s Malmö office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spark, Flink, Kafka, Snowflake, or Apache Iceberg.
• Experience building and operating microservices on Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Akka and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Grafana and observability practices.
• Interest or hands-on experience in Machine Learning.
• Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
