Senior Software Engineer (CCC Auto / Agentic)

Location: New York, Chicago, or Remote within the United States

Salary: $180,000–$225,000 annually; bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Own backend services in Python and TypeScript from ambiguous problem definition through production operation.
• Build and operate durable, event-driven, multi-tenant systems where AI agents run within deterministic workflows.
• Design failure modes, replay semantics, cost controls, tracing, and auditability for model calls and agent steps.
• Model and manage claims automation data across relational, document, and graph databases while protecting sensitive tenant data.
• Author cross-team technical designs, review code and architecture, mentor engineers, and participate in shared on-call.
• Improve specifications, permissions, hooks, and review standards for agentic coding tools.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including designing, shipping to customers, and operating an event-driven system in production.
• Python and TypeScript expertise sufficient to establish team conventions, plus experience with a systems language such as Rust, Go, Java, or C#.
• Strong computer science and distributed-systems fundamentals, including concurrency, consistency, ordering, and failure handling.
• Experience with Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Service Bus, or similar brokers, including duplicate, late, and failed event handling.
• Experience modeling and developing across relational, document, and graph databases, including partition-key, consistency, and tenant-isolation decisions.
• Experience architecting and operating systems on Azure or AWS with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and a durable workflow engine such as Temporal or Durable Task Scheduler.
• Daily production use of Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or a similar agentic coding tool, with a clear account of context constraints and output verification.
• Authored technical design documents for systems spanning multiple teams and used them to gain feedback and buy-in.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including explaining trade-offs to customers.

Nice to have

• React and TypeScript experience, particularly with chat, streaming, and citation-heavy AI experiences.
• Formal methods or fault-injection testing such as Lean, TLA+, or deterministic simulation.
• Performance work involving profiling, memory, and concurrency tuning below the application layer.
• Familiarity with MCP, A2A, command-line tools, and microservices used by AI agents.
• Insurance, claims, or automotive repair domain experience.
