Senior Data & AI Engineer (Generative AI)

Location: Remote from Virginia, United States; must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Salary: $160,000–$185,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support product discovery by combining technical, business, and customer needs into achievable objectives.
• Identify strategic improvements across processes, organizational practices, technical innovation, and culture, then lead cross-functional delivery.
• Develop data and AI solutions, architectural roadmaps, and strategic solution ideas aligned with customer needs.
• Work hands-on with developers to deliver solutions and provide customer-facing support and solutioning.
• Mentor data engineers, establish best practices, conduct code reviews, and communicate technical business value to stakeholders.
• Support business development and advise customers on complex enterprise data solutions.

Requirements

• US citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of IT experience, including designing, analyzing, and implementing large-scale, complex data architectures.
• 5+ years of data experience evaluating, architecting, and building AI and Generative AI tools.
• Knowledge of Data Management, Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, Big Data, Data Analytics, and applicable Data Science concepts and tools.
• Experience with Azure and AWS cloud-native data and AI technologies.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir, and other large data platforms.
• Experience working in Agile environments using advanced design and engineering practices.
• Ability to communicate technical solutions to stakeholders at multiple leadership levels and build relationships.

Nice to have

• Experience with DHS and knowledge of DHS standards.
• Experience planning and meeting delivery objectives in highly dynamic, complex environments.
• Ability to evaluate emerging big data technologies, recommend solutions, and articulate risks.
• Experience with Python, Django, Flask, Java, PostgreSQL Vector, Nifi, Bash scripting, API development, CI/CD pipelines, and on-premises and cloud environments.
• Understanding of source code management, Agile management, data analysis and dashboarding, and ticket management tools.
• Proven success in consulting and advising customers.
