GCP Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Hybrid from an office in Milan, Florence, or Verona, Italy; a 100% remote option is also available.

Salary: €28,000–€34,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design and deploy scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructures, primarily on GCP and progressively across AWS and Azure.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code scripts and templates with Terraform, Deployment Manager, or AWS CloudFormation, and automate provisioning with Ansible.
• Evaluate and optimize cloud architectures for performance, cost, reliability, and business alignment.
• Implement GitOps processes and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and management.
• Write Python or Bash scripts to automate repetitive infrastructure tasks.
• Track cloud developments and apply current cloud-service best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent training; alternatively, higher vocational training in Systems Administration or Application Development.
• More than 2 years of experience managing GCP infrastructure and developing in Python; AWS and/or Azure experience is welcome as an additional skill.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or Deployment Manager, and with CI/CD for deploying and maintaining pipelines and data platforms.
• Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration for scalable and resilient data infrastructures.
• Expertise in Google Cloud IAM, RBAC, and Secret Manager, including Zero Trust principles and data compliance.
• Experience with Google Artifact Registry.
• Experience configuring Google Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Error Reporting for performance tracking, alerting, and cloud-cost optimization.
• Ability to communicate in English for work in global environments and collaboration with international teams.
