Platform Engineer II - Observability (Fintech)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain scalable observability tools and platforms.
• Integrate observability practices into engineering workflows to improve system transparency and reliability.
• Lead standardised observability frameworks across the organisation.
• Design and refine pipelines that collect, aggregate, and normalise telemetry data from diverse sources.
• Promote code instrumentation best practices and contribute to a service inventory tracking changes and operational impact.
• Share knowledge and support continuous learning within the observability team.

Requirements

• Solid software engineering background with a specific interest in observability and monitoring distributed systems.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, and Sentry, plus Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform development practices.
• Practical knowledge of Linux systems and the shell.
• Experience developing or adopting libraries for integrating with observability tools.
• Good coding skills in relevant languages such as PHP, Java, Python, or Go.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence without authority in a hybrid environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with data analytics and data pipelines for collecting and deriving insights from observability data.
