Principal Supplier Program Manager (Aerospace/Defense)

Location: Cranston, Rhode Island or Bristol, Rhode Island, United States; travel between facilities as needed. Domestic travel up to 10% is required.

Compensation range: $165,500–$215,100 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a small team of Supplier Program Managers supporting Autonomous Underwater Systems.
• Manage critical supplier relationships, performance, schedules, costs, quality, purchase orders, Statements of Work, and Integrated Master Schedules.
• Coordinate supply chain execution transitions, Statement of Work development, supplier production schedules, material forecasts, and proposal cost and labor inputs.
• Lead weekly supplier status meetings, quarterly internal management reviews, and Quarterly Business Reviews with critical suppliers.
• Track supplier delivery, cost, risk, material, milestone, and revenue-forecast metrics.
• Escalate critical-path issues and solutions to program and Supply Chain leadership while collaborating with Quality, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, and Program Management.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or MBA/MS/JD degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Supply chain experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Experience leading a small employee team and managing supplier performance against Purchase Orders, Statements of Work, or an Integrated Master Schedule.
• Comprehensive procurement experience covering sourcing, supplier qualification, ordering, on-time delivery tracking, and expediting.
• Experience using an enterprise resource planning system and with contracting methods and types.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, sound judgment, creativity, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Financial acumen, including the ability to determine cost reasonableness.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance if required; selected applicants must meet eligibility requirements for classified information.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience in a production and/or development environment, preferably in aerospace and defense.
• Experience with the U.S. Government or Department of Defense.
• Cross-functional experience with Quality, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
• Continuous improvement experience, including Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management Systems.
• Experience interacting with programs and reporting to business leadership.
