Software Engineer II (Embedded)

Location: Hybrid in Northridge, California, United States, with 3–4 days onsite.

Salary: $97,000–$165,000 USD annually for California roles.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, debug, and implement operating-system components, software tools, utilities, and embedded software solutions.
• Determine systems software design requirements.
• Implement and monitor system improvements to increase efficiency.
• Generate systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures.
• Contribute across software lifecycle activities according to program needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering or science field plus 2+ years of professional software development experience, or a master’s degree in one of these fields.
• Strong background in embedded systems and software development, with core competencies in C and Python.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in C and familiarity with C++ and Assembly.
• Embedded systems development experience and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience with regulated medical software development processes such as IEC 62304.
• Strong numerical, analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with network communications or Bluetooth Low Energy.
