Product Manager, Institutional (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; office attendance at least two days per week, on Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday.

Base salary: $240,000+ annually, plus benefits and equity; actual compensation varies by professional background, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Own the roadmap for the Institutional product, prioritizing automation of fund operations such as bank reconciliation, journal entries, capital calls, and LP requests.
• Work continuously with managing partners, fund CFOs, and controllers to shape product direction, support sales, and resolve customer escalations.
• Grow Institutional revenue, assets under administration, retention, and customer satisfaction through accurate, responsive, and efficient product experiences.
• Make migrations from incumbent fund administrators fast and predictable.
• Write product requirements that translate complex accounting, tax, and operational realities into work for engineering and design.
• Partner with sales, fund accounting, and operations to win new firms and support existing customers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of overall experience, including 4+ years in product management or as a founder.
• Experience taking a B2B product from a handful of customers to more than 100 and owning the associated revenue.
• Ability to learn and operate in complex domains; experience in fintech, accounting or finance software, data or platform products, or another operationally complex B2B domain.
• Daily use of AI tools to prototype, analyze, and ship, with an understanding of their limitations when numerical accuracy is critical.
• Ability to design trustworthy automation with accuracy, auditability, and clear human intervention points.
• Ability to earn the confidence of managing partners and CFOs, present products in sales meetings, and turn escalations into roadmap improvements.
• Ownership of product and customer outcomes while partnering closely with engineering, sales, and operations.
• Must be based in San Francisco or New York.

Nice to have

• Fluency in venture fund operations, including capital calls, capital accounts, NAV, K-1s, and audits.
• Experience in fintech, accounting or finance software, data or platform products, or another operationally complex B2B domain.
