Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Hybrid role; must reside within 30 miles of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Travel up to 25%.

Base salary: $75,000–$90,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Design, evaluate, and plan mechanical systems for pharmaceutical, food and beverage, specialty chemical, and manufacturing projects from concept design through construction.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations and energy analysis using Trace3D and internal calculation methods.
• Conduct field investigations and building surveys of existing HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Select HVAC equipment, prepare specifications, design documents, engineering reports, and technical studies.
• Research code compliance and coordinate mechanical designs with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support schedules, deliverable quality, technical issue resolution, project documentation, meeting follow-ups, and successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2–5 years of professional or co-op experience in HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and holds EIT certification.
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and AutoCAD.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and manage varied projects and tasks.

Nice to have

• Experience with Trane Trace3D or other load calculation software.
