Lead Architect, Application & Product- AI

Location: USA - Coppell, TX; hybrid work with attendance 8 days per month

Salary: $107,500.00–$188,400.00 USD, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Own the architecture of new cloud and AI products and the broader platform using cloud-first, API-first, and agentic-first approaches.
• Define architecture standards, technical guardrails, reference architectures, specifications, ADRs, integration contracts, and reference implementations using Architecture-as-Code.
• Analyze existing enterprise and legacy architectures and establish pragmatic evolution and migration paths.
• Partner with Product and Engineering, conduct architecture, design, and security reviews, and drive alignment across technical stakeholders.
• Define production-grade AI, agentic, integration, and evaluation patterns covering context engineering, orchestration, observability, traceability, performance, security, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Ensure application and data architectures support scalable access, data quality, lineage, governance, and batch, real-time, and event-driven integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant application or product architecture responsibility for complex commercial software.
• Hands-on experience architecting AI/ML, generative AI, or agentic capabilities in customer-facing production software is required.
• Experience with the Agentic Product Development Lifecycle and Spec-Driven Development, including architecture specifications, evaluation strategies, and traceability.
• Experience designing secure AI-enabled systems, including data protection, identity, access controls, threat modeling, and AI-specific security risks.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and integration architectures.
• Experience with modern technology stacks, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automated quality gates.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture, security, risk, compliance, and architecture governance, with the ability to incorporate these requirements early in the lifecycle.
• Strong systems thinking, architectural judgment, communication, influencing, facilitation, and technical leadership skills, including leading through influence without direct authority.
• Understanding of modern data architecture and production architecture, including data modeling, lineage, data quality, governance, observability, telemetry, reliability, resiliency, deployment, diagnostics, and operational effectiveness.
• Ability to simplify complex technology landscapes, identify reusable patterns, reduce unnecessary variation, avoid over-engineering, and balance delivery velocity, AI-native development, technical excellence, and governance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
