Lead Enterprise Architect (Defense IT)

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical interface to Department of the Air Force acquisition stakeholders across requirements, portfolio, and enterprise architecture work.
• Define and refine requirements, reengineer business processes, evaluate commercial and government-off-the-shelf software, and review alternative system designs.
• Evaluate emerging IT capabilities, including prototype AI and machine learning solutions, and present findings to senior government stakeholders.
• Benchmark commercial and government tools for program and portfolio management, source selection, modeling, and simulation, then support their integration.
• Support IT governance, security reviews, business requirements reviews, acquisition lifecycle governance, and IT audit compliance.
• Analyze application portfolios and hosting environments, map business and data functions, and create prioritized transition roadmaps that reduce legacy systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in systems analysis, enterprise architecture, or application architecture at enterprise scale.
• Master’s degree in computer or systems engineering, or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent additional experience.
• Active Secret clearance required; interim Secret clearance may be considered with approval.
• Experience leading technical tasks and serving as a credible technical interface to senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• ITIL 4 Foundation or ITIL Version 5 Foundation.
• CISSP, or Associate of ISC2 status after passing the exam and while accruing the required experience.
• Oracle and enterprise business systems experience in a federal or Department of Defense environment.
• Knowledge of defense business capability acquisition governance and IT audit compliance.
• Hands-on experience with portfolio rationalization or legacy application consolidation at federal scale.
