Manager, Financial Accounting

Location: Chicago, IL, United States of America. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Base salary: $104,100.00–$130,150.00 per year, with potential bonus and/or equity eligibility depending on level and role.

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare consolidated financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations under US GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Support SEC filings, earnings materials, executive leadership, Audit Committee, and Board presentations.
• Coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits, maintain SOX internal controls, and support treasury reporting and share repurchase tracking.
• Interpret GAAP guidance for SaaS arrangements, cloud computing, and M&A integration accounting, and lead implementation of new standards.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting professionals while partnering with Finance, FP&A, Legal, IT, auditors, and consultants.
• Support financial reporting system upgrades, SIT/UAT, dashboards, reports, and analytical tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance and a required CPA certification.
• 7+ years of progressive financial accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and SOX internal controls, plus experience supporting SEC reporting including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
• Exposure to ERP systems and financial transformation or process improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT for technical research, workflow efficiency, and financial narrative writing.
• Advanced Excel and Google Suite skills, exceptional analytical ability, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to have

• Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting experience combined with a corporate accounting background.
• PeopleSoft experience.
