DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Reston, VA, United States. Candidates must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hire.

Salary: $170,000–$260,000 per year, with potential additional compensation including performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Engineer, administer, automate, and sustain shared cloud and DevOps platform services for multiple customer mission teams.
• Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux-based environments and AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Security Groups, and Elastic Load Balancing.
• Support containerized services and workloads using Docker and/or Podman.
• Configure, administer, integrate, and troubleshoot CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and/or GitLab.
• Develop automation scripts, configuration patterns, deployment procedures, and reusable solutions to improve platform reliability and repeatability.
• Integrate platform tooling with source control, artifact repositories, authentication and authorization, security, monitoring, logging, and ticketing systems.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly, or the ability to obtain CI Poly.
• 4–10+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, platform operations, cloud infrastructure, site reliability, automation, or infrastructure engineering.
• Production or mission-environment experience administering and troubleshooting Linux systems.
• Experience supporting AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, Security Groups, and/or Load Balancing.
• Experience building, running, troubleshooting, and/or supporting containerized workloads with Docker and/or Podman.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines from scratch using GitLab and/or Jenkins.
• Experience with Git-based source-control workflows.
• Ability to automate infrastructure and processes using Python and/or Bash.
• Level placement is based on experience: Level 1 requires 4–7 years, Level 2 requires 8–9 years, and Level 3 requires 10+ years.
