Editor (Broadcast News)

Location: Houston, TX; 100% onsite

hirify.global is a media company operating a News team in Houston.

What you will do

• Edit daily news stories, breaking news, and special reports using non-linear, computer-based editing equipment.
• Coordinate with reporters, producers, the control room, Content Management, and Engineering to prepare stories and address technical incidents.
• Find content on feeds and in archives, edit materials to match scripts, and consolidate videos for archive after shows.
• Fulfill requests from other departments and affiliates while providing creative ideas for continuous improvement.
• Work efficiently and on time to ensure videos go on air as scheduled.
• Work various shifts and times, including weekends and holidays, when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Communications.
• At least 2 years of video editing experience.
• Expert knowledge of Avid Media Composer and i-news rundown.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
