MMJ-Reporter (Broadcast Journalism)

Location: DC-Washington; 2121 Wisconsin Ave NW, United States. Onsite role with schedules that may include weekends.

Salary: $70,000–$75,000 per year, based upon experience.

What you will do

• Report and write news stories, including recording and editing audio and video.
• Enterprise relevant stories and pitch multiple daily ideas for broadcast, digital, news apps, streaming, and social platforms.
• Create multimedia content, including vertical video, and perform live shots for television and social platforms.
• Report from breaking-news scenes, conduct newsmaker interviews, and research accurate context.
• Manage time across multiple daily deadlines and complete special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• At least two years of news-reporting experience, including pitching, reporting, and producing news stories.
• Demonstration reel and/or portfolio of relevant work required.
• Experience using broadcast-quality video cameras, broadcast-quality editing systems, mobile phone cameras, and mobile editing applications.
• Fluency in English with clear written and spoken communication skills and the ability to ad lib when required.
• Experience with newsroom systems for news production, video editing, digital content management, email, and collaboration; previous ENPS experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to adjust schedules and assignments as business needs evolve.
