Staff Workday HRIS Technical Analyst

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; expected to work from the office 3+ days per week. Relocation to a hirify.global hub location may be supported.

Salary: $161,000–$189,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Own the Workday platform roadmap, module adoption strategy, and alignment with twice-yearly releases across HR, IT, and Finance.
• Lead configuration, testing, deployment, and optimization across Workday HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent, Performance, Recruiting, and Adaptive Planning.
• Manage business processes, security models, calculated fields, custom reporting, regression testing, audits, performance tuning, and configuration health checks.
• Build and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, and APIs with HR, payroll, finance, provisioning, and adjacent systems.
• Improve employee and manager self-service through process optimization, notifications, navigation, automation, and Workday AI and analytics capabilities.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications, manage vendor and implementation partner relationships, and lead delivery and adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 6+ years of progressive HR technology experience, including deep hands-on Workday configuration and optimization.
• Expertise across multiple Workday modules, including HCM Core, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent, or Recruiting.
• Hands-on experience building integrations with Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, and Workday APIs.
• Strong command of the Workday security model, business process framework, calculated fields, and advanced reporting.
• Experience with process automation and workflow design inside Workday.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate complex Workday concepts for non-technical audiences and drive work independently without explicit direction.
• Proactive ownership, urgency, resilience through ambiguity, and a strong bias for action.

Nice to have

• Workday certification at Pro level or equivalent.
• Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning.
