Head of Procurement (Construction)

Location: Remote format; the role is connected to the construction programme in Germany and requires regular travel to suppliers, project sites, and facilities in Germany and Serbia.

What you will do

• Own procurement for the full construction programme from material sourcing through contracting and delivery.
• Lead negotiations with German and Chinese building-material suppliers and manage the external contractor base.
• Build and embed processes for sourcing, qualification, tendering, contracting, and supplier performance management.
• Shape and develop the procurement team, including category ownership and capacity planning.
• Coordinate procurement with construction, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams.
• Control material costs and lead times, report on savings, risks, and supplier performance, and support R&D and lab procurement.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading procurement for construction, prefabrication, or industrial manufacturing programmes.
• Experience negotiating with international suppliers, ideally including German and Chinese building-material markets.
• Experience designing and implementing procurement processes rather than only operating existing ones.
• Strong commercial and contractual judgement, with a record of improving costs and lead times.
• Experience managing and developing a procurement team, including category structure and supplier ownership.
• Readiness to travel regularly to suppliers, project sites, and facilities in Germany and Serbia.
• Professional fluency in English and a degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
