Senior Cloud & Data Platform Engineer (Azure)

Location: Lisbon or Porto, Portugal; hybrid with 2 days per week at the office

What you will do

• Implement, administer, and evolve Microsoft Azure cloud and data platforms.
• Ensure platform reliability, stability, and operational efficiency through incident management and root cause analysis.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Develop automations for provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks.
• Configure monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics with Azure Monitor.
• Optimize cloud costs through FinOps practices and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders on service improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or similar roles in complex enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Platform Engineering, including implementation, standardization, platform evolution, administration, and operational management.
• Proven experience administering Azure Databricks and experience administering Astronomer or Apache Airflow platforms.
• Experience implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, including monitoring configuration, alerting, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in Cloud Operations and operational support, including incident management and resolution.
• Hands-on FinOps experience, including cloud cost tracking, control, and optimization.
• Strong structured troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective action, technical standards, operational procedures, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Portuguese and English, written and spoken, including technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Site Reliability Engineering practices, Dynatrace, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, and/or Kubernetes.
