Data Engineer (GCP/Python/SQL)

What you will do

• Develop data warehouse and ETL solutions across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Build ETL solutions in GCP using Python and SQL, as well as on SQL Server using SSIS and T-SQL.
• Translate business requirements into estimates and end-to-end technical designs with other team members.
• Apply data warehouse development practices, including code and configuration management and build processes.
• Work in Agile delivery models with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments across data platforms.

Requirements

• Development background with exposure to data warehousing at scale across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Experience developing ETL solutions with GCP, Python, SQL, SQL Server, SSIS, and T-SQL.
• Exposure to data warehouse development practices, including code and configuration management and build processes.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse architectures, data modelling concepts, and ETL/ELT best practices.
• Ability to interpret business requirements and collaborate on estimates and end-to-end solution design.
• Experience working with Agile delivery models and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments across data platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder influencing skills, and the ability to work through ambiguity and reach consensus.
• Creative, proactive, logical, innovative, results-driven, quality-focused, and committed to continuous learning.

Nice to have

• Insurance industry experience.
• Exposure to BI reporting tools, ideally Power BI.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
• Ability to architect highly scalable distributed systems using different tools.
