Senior Data Engineer

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA; other locations include Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA; Portland, Maine, USA; and Columbia, South Carolina, USA.

Base salary: $98,340.00–$201,900.00.

What you will do

• Serve as a hands-on technical lead for data engineering across at least two Value Streams.
• Design and implement complex data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, data marts, data models, and enterprise data assets.
• Translate enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and governance guardrails into scalable, production-ready technical designs.
• Lead cloud, on-premises, internal, and external integrations using batch, near-real-time, real-time, and API-based patterns.
• Make technical design decisions, conduct design and code reviews, troubleshoot complex challenges, and guide solutions through production.
• Establish engineering practices, mentor engineers, and support Value Stream transformation using modern data engineering technologies and AI-enabled tools where appropriate.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Integration, or related technical disciplines.
• Hands-on experience designing and building complex data pipelines, ETL/ELT solutions, data warehouses, data marts, and data models in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Snowflake, SQL, Python, and modern ETL/ELT technologies.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and integrations through APIs, batch, near-real-time, and real-time patterns.
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, data integration patterns, solution design, and modern data engineering practices.
• Ability to translate enterprise architecture patterns, standards, and guardrails into detailed, scalable, production-ready designs.
• Experience as a hands-on technical lead, including design decisions, design and code reviews, complex problem-solving, and implementation guidance.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Git, automated testing, automation, deployment, and operational excellence.
• Experience delivering solutions across complex enterprise environments with multiple systems, platforms, and data sources; strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and business acumen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with legacy data platforms such as Teradata and DB2, particularly in modernization or transformation environments.
