Data Engineer Senior (Python/SQL)

Location: In-office role based in Lakewood, Colorado; the position may also be based in Denver, Phoenix, Birmingham, Dallas, Pittsburgh, or Cleveland, United States.

Salary: $91,000–$185,900 annually, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the development, implementation, support, and maintenance of data solutions for multiple applications.
• Analyze data requirements and develop data preparation processes for targeted solutions.
• Design and build data service infrastructure across multiple data platforms and workflows.
• Oversee scalable, available, and maintainable data solution development.
• Consult on data migration and transformation to ensure data accuracy and security.
• Support production processes, incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortem activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience and a bachelor's degree or comparable combination of education and experience.
• Advanced Python development skills, software engineering practices, Git, Linux-based development environments, and reliability engineering.
• Expertise with Oracle SQL, large tables, data modeling, indexing, schema design, query optimization, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Experience with data quality, validation, reconciliation, automated testing, incremental loads, pipeline-state tracking, and operational metadata.
• Advanced experience with Cron, Airflow, Kafka, cloud platforms, data warehousing, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with data analytics, data mining, data science, machine learning, big data management, and business intelligence.
• Experience defining coding standards, leading code reviews, mentoring engineers, and balancing engineering quality with delivery milestones.
