Data Engineer Senior (Python/SQL)

Location: In-office in Lakewood, CO, or Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Birmingham, AL; Dallas, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; or Cleveland, OH.

Salary: Base salary of $91,000.00–$185,900.00 per year; incentive eligible.

What you will do

• Lead the development, support, and implementation of data solutions for multiple applications.
• Analyze data requirements and develop data preparation processes for targeted solutions.
• Design and build data service infrastructure across multiple data platforms and workflows.
• Oversee scalable, available, and maintainable data solution development and implementation.
• Consult on data migration and transformation to ensure data accuracy and security.
• Support production processes, incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortem activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry-relevant experience; a bachelor's degree is typically required, although a comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
• Advanced Python skills with clean, reusable, and maintainable code; adherence to software engineering standards, patterns, and architectures.
• Deep familiarity with Git and Linux-based remote development environments.
• Expertise with Oracle SQL, large tables, database execution techniques, indexing, schema strategies, and query optimization.
• Experience with ETL/ELT patterns and frameworks, including developing custom solutions for complex requirements.
• Knowledge of data quality frameworks, validation, reconciliation, automated testing, resource optimization, incremental loads, pipeline state and failure tracking, and operational metadata logging.
• Advanced experience with workflow orchestration using Cron, Airflow, and Kafka, including concurrent tasks and complex dependencies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, ETL tooling, high-performance data warehousing, DevOps, CI/CD, and basic pipeline configuration and maintenance.
• Ability to define coding standards, lead code reviews, mentor engineers, and balance engineering quality with pragmatic business delivery.

• Experience or knowledge in data analytics, data mining, data science, machine learning, business intelligence, data architecture, and big data management.
