Senior Data Engineer, Analytics

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $88,000–$97,000 annual base salary; the offered salary may vary based on location, experience, skills, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex data pipelines and integrations, including source onboarding, secure connectivity, Fivetran ingestion, validation, deployment, documentation, and operational handoff.
• Provide advanced support across ingestion, transformation, orchestration, monitoring, and warehouse operations, owning outcomes and incident resolution.
• Design and maintain dbt or comparable models that turn raw data into tested, documented, consumption-ready datasets.
• Establish standards for pipeline development, including naming, load strategies, data contracts, error handling, testing, and deployment practices.
• Own reliability through monitoring, alerting, SLAs/SLOs, incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventative fixes.
• Improve warehouse and pipeline performance, cost efficiency, security, data quality, CI/CD, change management, and technical collaboration while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or data operations, with demonstrated ownership of production pipelines and reliability.
• Advanced SQL and proven experience diagnosing and resolving ingestion failures, schema drift, anomalies, performance bottlenecks, and other production issues.
• Hands-on dbt or comparable experience building and maintaining modular cloud-warehouse data models with testing and documentation.
• Production experience with a modern cloud data warehouse; Snowflake is strongly preferred, including object management, performance, and access patterns.
• Production experience with managed ingestion tooling; Fivetran is preferred, including connector troubleshooting and scaling.
• Experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and operational processes that improved reliability, MTTR, or freshness.
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders and strong prioritization skills that balance immediate fixes with long-term platform health.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
