Java Development & CI/CD Technical Team Lead

Location: Remote; U.S. Citizenship required. The position is associated with McLean, Virginia, United States.

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 DOE annually.

What you will do

• Lead daily technical execution for Java developers and CI/CD engineers, assigning work and tracking dependencies.
• Provide hands-on Java architecture guidance, complex development, code reviews, debugging, and performance improvements.
• Own CI/CD standards covering build automation, automated testing, deployment reliability, and secure releases.
• Coordinate sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimates, technical risks, and delivery commitments with Scrum Masters and program leadership.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, architecture, and QA teams to resolve integration and delivery issues.
• Lead root-cause investigations, review technical deliverables, improve development processes, and communicate assessments and risks to government stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, Java development, DevOps, or related disciplines.
• Experience leading software engineering teams, including mentoring, code reviews, and coordinating technical delivery.
• Extensive hands-on Java development experience with enterprise application design and frameworks such as Spring or Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing, implementing, and improving CI/CD pipelines and build processes using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Maven, or Gradle.
• Ability to troubleshoot across application, integration, build, test, and deployment environments.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, secure development, automated testing, Git, software release management, and Agile delivery.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder coordination, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain hands-on while leading others.
