Graduate Civil Engineer (Civil Engineering)

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom; flexible work between the office and construction sites, including regular site activities.

What you will do

• Support delivery of civil engineering projects and work packages within defined requirements.
• Work on construction sites to support activities, monitor progress and quality, and promote safe working.
• Identify, monitor, and help mitigate project risks and opportunities.
• Develop knowledge of contract administration under NEC3/4 and bespoke contracts.
• Prepare subcontract documentation and attend or potentially lead technical and progress meetings with subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, planning, procurement, tendering, commercial, customer, and site-based teams on turn-key Grid Technology projects.

Requirements

• Have achieved or be working towards a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Awareness of Health and Safety, Environmental, and Planning requirements, with a strong commitment to working safely.
• Willingness to work flexibly in both the office and on site.
• Proactive and positive attitude, ambition, and eagerness to learn.
• Good communication skills and comfort working and reporting at all levels of a multidisciplinary team.
• Confidence taking responsibility for assigned tasks with appropriate support.

Nice to have

• Some exposure to Civil Engineering, Construction, or Infrastructure sectors.
