Junior Network Engineer (BGP)

Location: Hybrid role split between offices in Steinsel and Bettembourg, Luxembourg; occasional datacenter visits. After onboarding, 1–2 home-office days per week are possible depending on the regulations of the country of residence.

What you will do

• Operate and troubleshoot the ISP backbone, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS/LDP routing and Internet peering.
• Work across EVPN, DWDM optical transport, FTTH access, customer connectivity, and datacenter networking.
• Configure and maintain Juniper, Huawei, Cisco, and MikroTik routers and switches.
• Investigate network incidents and analyze packet captures to identify root causes.
• Progress toward participating in the on-call rotation after training and onboarding.

Requirements

• Genuine curiosity about computer networking and motivation to learn independently; prior years of experience are not required.
• Good command of English is required for communication with diverse teams.
• Relevant networking studies or a first certification such as CCNA, JNCIA, or MikroTik certification are a plus, not a requirement.
• Practical networking experience through a homelab, such as a routed lab, BGP setup with virtual routers, or self-hosted stack, is welcome and may be presented during the interview.
