Network Engineer (Secure Network, Perimeter, and Connectivity Services)

Location: Betzdorf, Luxembourg; at least 60% onsite from the office

What you will do

• Design, configure, operate, and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, data center, secure connectivity, router, switch, firewall, and VPN services.
• Manage segmentation, VLANs, routing, access control, firewall rules, NAT, secure remote access, monitoring, capacity, and network resilience.
• Integrate Nutanix-hosted workloads, corporate systems, satellite operations environments, and external customer or governmental networks.
• Automate network infrastructure and configuration management with Terraform, Ansible, or comparable tools, including Kubernetes networking, ingress, DNS, load balancing, and network policies.
• Apply security hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, change control, configuration backup, compliance documentation, and recovery procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors, security teams, infrastructure engineers, and project stakeholders during incidents, upgrades, audits, deployments, and on-call or planned maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, network engineering, telecommunications, information technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4–6 years of experience in network engineering, network operations, firewall administration, or secure enterprise connectivity.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, routing and switching technologies, VPNs, monitoring tools, and network troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of virtualization and HCI network dependencies, including VLANs, virtual switching, storage and network traffic separation, and data center connectivity.
• Strong collaboration, analytical, documentation, stakeholder-management, and communication skills, including the ability to explain network matters to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory for operational communication, documentation, vendor coordination, and international or governmental projects.
• Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain NATO, EU, national governmental, or project-specific security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in security-sensitive, regulated, governmental, telecoms, defense, or satellite communications environments.
• Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, Check Point, CompTIA Security+, ITIL, or equivalent vendor certifications.
