Value & Performance Lead (Digital & AI)

What you will do

• Shape the International Commercial Digital & AI portfolio to maximise risk-adjusted return.
• Define KPIs, measurement frameworks, budgets, expected financial impact, and documented impact scores for investment proposals.
• Own independent portfolio audits at three, six, and twelve months and maintain the benefits ledger covering promised versus verified value.
• Assess portfolio risk, return, concentration, strategic coverage, investment stages, and near-term versus long-term value.
• Run portfolio scenarios and trade-off analyses, making opportunity costs and allocation implications visible.
• Recommend capital reallocation, funding-sequence changes, increased or reduced exposure, and continuation or stopping decisions.

Requirements

• Significant relevant experience in finance, portfolio analytics, corporate planning, performance management, investment analysis, management consulting, or a related field; further experience is required without an advanced degree.
• Experience owning business cases or portfolio decisions that were later audited against realised value.
• Finance-native analytical depth, with the ability to translate measurement evidence into defensible capital-allocation recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Experience with portfolio-level capital allocation, risk-adjusted return, category allocation, concentration risk, opportunity cost, and near-term versus long-term optionality.
• Ability to manage value across a portfolio, identify changing expected returns, and assess funding and sequencing implications.
• Experience working with specialist measurement teams and understanding the distinction between framework ownership, method validation, measurement delivery, independent assessment, and capital allocation.
• Ability to combine internal performance evidence with competitive intelligence, quantitative industry benchmarks, and qualitative peer intelligence without creating false comparability.
• Independent judgment, confidence challenging senior sponsors, and ability to work across Finance, KPI governance, data owners, and leadership-reporting structures.
• Strong communication skills and experience influencing resource-allocation decisions across a matrix without owning the underlying data or delivery teams.
