Staff Software Consultant

Location: 100% remote within the United States and Canada

Salary: $170,000–$210,000 USD annually; starting salary is $170,000–$190,000 USD, dependent on experience and the interview process.

What you will do

• Lead client development activities, system architecture, and delivery efforts for client teams.
• Guide client and internal discussions about client satisfaction, improvements, and technical approaches.
• Collaborate with Support Agents and other agents to resolve client issues and support team growth.
• Teach and train client staff and agents in core technologies, tools, and practices.
• Address systemic issues at their root while explaining the benefits and drawbacks of different approaches.
• Contribute consistently to a company area such as qualification, marketing, agent support, or client relationship expansion.

Requirements

• Expertise in at least one frequently staffed core technology: Ruby with Rails, JavaScript with React and Node, DevOps, or Java.
• Proficiency in designing, architecting, and refactoring moderately complex systems developed by teams of 10 or more.
• Deep experience adapting software development and delivery practices across multiple business domains.
• Experience improving client software systems and teams as a consultant for multiple organizations.
• Ability to communicate effectively across different organizational levels and roles.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and issues within delivery teams.
• Experience mentoring software engineers and leading their technical direction.
