Senior Software Consultant

Location: São Paulo, Brazil, or nearby cities within reasonable commuting distance; hybrid work from client offices 3–4 days per week, with availability for at least 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Guide clients and engineering teams in transforming complex business challenges into sustainable software solutions.
• Drive software design using Domain-Driven Design, Clean Architecture, and Hexagonal Architecture principles.
• Define testing strategies and support automated testing, TDD, BDD, DevOps, cloud engineering, and software quality assurance activities.
• Facilitate technical discussions, requirements gathering, workshops, presentations, architectural decisions, and expectation management with clients.
• Mentor engineering teams and improve practices for continuous delivery, maintainability, and sustainable software evolution.
• Deliver software as part of hirify.global teams or as an embedded practitioner within client development teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional experience in software development and architecture.
• Previous experience in technology consulting firms or consulting projects for multiple clients, preferably in the Brazilian market.
• Proven customer-facing experience involving requirements gathering, technical discussions, presentations, workshops, expectation management, and decision-making.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of .NET, C#, Java, or TypeScript.
• Practical experience developing modern frontend applications with React and/or backend services and APIs using Node.js.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Practical knowledge of TDD and/or BDD applied throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Experience working in Agile environments focused on software quality, maintainability, and sustainable software evolution.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools to generate, refactor, debug, and test production code, including critical review and validation of AI-generated outputs.
• Comfort working in a consulting environment with frequent interaction with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Experience developing with Angular or Kotlin.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, Clean Code, and SOLID principles.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Software Quality Assurance.
• Fluent or advanced English communication skills.
• Previous experience as a technical lead, engineering leader, or mentor.
