Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Lead complex platform initiatives from discovery through production, coordinating dependencies and delivering reliable platform components.
• Maintain and operate a global, high-availability cloud infrastructure platform across 5 regions with round-the-clock usage, including participation in out-of-hours on-call rotas.
• Improve CI/CD, SRE, networking, cloud security, scalability, reliability and developer experience.
• Consult with engineering teams on cloud architecture and platform usage to streamline their road to production.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen their design, architecture and technical capabilities.
• Evaluate and adopt tools, frameworks and architectural patterns that improve resilience and delivery velocity.

Requirements

• Experience designing, building and operating distributed AWS cloud infrastructure, including networking, IAM, observability and monitoring, security and governance.
• Deep experience operating Kubernetes workloads at scale and maintaining secure, well-governed cloud environments.
• Deep knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform best practices, alongside GitOps deployment setups.
• Strong understanding of clear, maintainable and well-tested infrastructure-as-code configurations.
• Proven ability to lead initiatives from discovery through delivery and balance efficiency with ease of use.
• Experience modernising legacy systems, simplifying architecture, reducing cognitive load and making systems easier to maintain and evolve.
• Ability to collaborate, advise platform users, share knowledge and solve complex infrastructure and tooling problems.
• Willingness to collaborate in person 2 days a week in the London office.
