Team Lead Legal Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the Legal Engineering team in France through prioritisation, 1:1s, coaching, quality review, capacity planning and escalations.
• Hire, onboard and develop Legal Engineers while setting a high standard of excellence.
• Personally lead strategic corporate and public-sector engagements with General Counsels, legal leadership and legal operations teams, from pilots through department-wide adoption.
• Partner with Go-To-Market and Engagement teams to convert pilots, drive rollouts, renewals and expansions.
• Help legal departments build AI business cases covering ROI, efficiency, risk and functional impact.
• Create reusable playbooks, templates, French-language content and training, provide product feedback, and represent Legora in the French legal market.

Requirements

• Strong legal background with typically 8+ years of experience, including senior in-house roles in a large organisation, such as head of a legal team, senior counsel or legal operations lead.
• Proven people-management experience, including hiring, coaching, hard feedback and performance management.
• Commercial understanding of legal-department funding, value demonstration and technology purchasing.
• Credibility with General Counsels and leadership teams, with the ability to align legal, IT, procurement and business stakeholders.
• Real fluency with generative AI, including using it, testing it, understanding its limitations and explaining why it fails.
• Ability to bring structure without bureaucracy and operate with energy in a fast-growing team.
• Native or bilingual French and fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience leading legal transformation, legal operations or technology implementation in a legal department.
• Experience in legal tech, legal AI or consulting to legal functions.
• Public-sector or regulated-industry experience.
