Senior Systems Engineer

Location: St Leonards Office, Pacific Hwy, St Leonards NSW 2065, Australia. Onsite role requiring access to a vehicle for travel to sites as required.

What you will do

• Provide Level 2 configuration, troubleshooting, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and permanent fixes across business, digital signage, and third-party systems.
• Configure, test, integrate, and launch new systems, including UAT, go-live, and hypercare support with vendors and project teams.
• Troubleshoot and define requirements for TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VLANs, firewall rules, VPN access, site connectivity, CCTV, access control, and digital signage networks.
• Administer Microsoft 365, business applications, user access, role-based permissions, JIRA workflows, permissions, notifications, and service-desk queues.
• Automate system administration, KPI, and reporting tasks through scripting; maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, audit evidence, and disaster-recovery procedures.
• Coordinate escalations with vendors and Group IT, manage tickets and SLAs, mentor Level 1 administrators, and support cross-training within the Systems Team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer or network engineering, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong experience in a senior systems, infrastructure, or network engineering role, ideally in a multi-site enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of IT and cloud networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VLANs, firewall rules, and VPN, with hands-on connectivity troubleshooting experience.
• Experience configuring and supporting SOAP and REST APIs and system integrations.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for system administration and reporting.
• Strong systems configuration and Level 2 troubleshooting skills across business applications, including incident handling and root-cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Copilot, Microsoft Dynamics, SharePoint, and related Microsoft technologies.
• Experience administering JIRA, including workflows, permissions, and service management.
• Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills, with a flexible, hands-on approach.
