AI Datacenter Electrical / High Voltage Construction Manager (AI)

Location: On-site as needed; candidates should be based in Austin, Rockdale, Abilene, Houston, or Dallas, Texas, or Massillon, Clarington, Columbus, Akron, or Pittsburgh, Ohio/Pennsylvania.

What you will do

• Lead electrical construction for AI data center builds from utility interconnection and on-site substations through medium-voltage distribution, power trains, data hall delivery, energization, and commissioning.
• Manage HV substations, including transformers, breakers, protection and control systems, grounding, and utility coordination.
• Oversee MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, UPS, batteries, generators, busway, and PDUs/RPPs.
• Manage electrical contractors and equipment vendors for safety, quality, productivity, schedule, and equipment readiness.
• Coordinate installation verification, NETA acceptance testing, relay testing, protection coordination studies, and Level 1–5 commissioning.
• Enforce NFPA 70E, arc-flash, LOTO, energized-work, switching, MOP, documentation, and turnover requirements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of electrical construction experience in data centers, utilities, or heavy industrial projects, including HV substations.
• Hands-on experience with high-voltage substations, MV switchgear, and utility interconnections.
• Experience with data center power trains, including switchgear, UPS, generators, battery systems, and busway.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience such as a licensed electrician with progressive leadership.
• Ability to enforce electrical safety, stop unsafe work, resolve field issues with engineers and vendors, and explain electrical risks and trade-offs to non-electrical stakeholders.
• Ability to coordinate utilities, contractors, and vendors around one energization plan.

Nice to have

• PE, journeyman or master electrician license, or OSHA 30-Hour certification.
• Experience with high-density AI/HPC power distribution and rapid power ramps.
