Director of Corporate Development (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected 3 days per week.

Base salary: $242,000–$285,000 USD annually for Zone 1 locations. Additional compensation may include bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Analyze strategic, competitive, and industry landscapes to develop and advocate for M&A business cases.
• Manage acquisitions and strategic investments end to end, including sourcing, valuation, negotiation, due diligence, closing, and post-close integration.
• Lead deal evaluation meetings, facilitate decisions, and present opportunities and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Build relationships with founders, venture capital firms, and investment banks to develop a pipeline of transactions.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Compliance, Product, Engineering, business sponsors, and integration teams to execute deals.
• Build scalable processes, playbooks, and best practices for the Corporate Development team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or other investing roles, ideally in fintech, financial services, or consumer technology.
• Track record of sourcing, leading, and closing complex technology acquisitions or strategic investments, ideally including in-house corporate development experience.
• Exceptional analytical skills in company valuation, financial modeling, and structured problem solving.
• Ability to reason from first principles, use data to draw sound conclusions, analyze quickly, make decisions, and act decisively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience building relationships with founders, investors, bankers, and executives.
• Executive presence and outstanding written and verbal communication, including presentations to senior leadership and boards.
• Resourcefulness, persistence, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Familiarity with Robinhood and the financial services industry.
