Growth Internship (AI)

Location: Based in or willing to move to NYC; in-person during part of the week. The arrangement may be flexible for an outstanding candidate and must work around a class schedule.

Salary: $17/hour, plus commissions and bounties.

String is a lean startup building a platform and Web Access API for collecting, searching, crawling, mapping, browsing, and structuring data from websites.

What you will do

• Help put String’s products in front of prospective customers and build the revenue engine from scratch.
• Own 1–3 growth initiatives end to end, developing ideas and launching them.
• Create growth assets such as sales copy, videos, product demos, social posts, and event materials.
• Research and identify companies, YouTubers, and other prospects that need String’s product.
• Run outbound campaigns, including email outreach, customer visits, events, and guerrilla marketing.
• Automate repetitive prospecting and growth work using AI tools and collaborate with engineers on customer solutions.

Requirements

• Based in or willing to move to NYC and available for in-person work during part of the week.
• Demonstrated evidence of having done something singularly impressive.
• Self-starter who can ship from day one without extensive structure or supervision.
• High level of initiative, creativity, ambition, and willingness to take ownership.
• Ability to contribute through writing, video creation, or another growth-relevant skill.
• Willingness to work around a class schedule and invest the time needed to achieve results.
• Comfort with ambiguity, experimentation, variability, and failure.
• Interest in using AI to automate repetitive work while producing original, high-quality output.

Hiring process

• 30-minute initial conversation with Bruce.
• Asynchronous exercise reviewed by Bruce and Rohit, followed by a 1–2-hour in-person interview and case exercise with Bruce, Rohit, and Logan.
