Lead Software Engineer (Embedded Software)

Location: Braunschweig, Bremen, or Kiel, Germany; remote work is offered.

What you will do

• Assess complex software applications, their scope, and use cases.
• Analyze software requirements and interface documentation and design suitable architectures.
• Implement and integrate software for distributed systems.
• Automate the software engineering process using DevOps practices, with a focus on test automation.
• Ensure software quality through code reviews and testing at multiple levels.
• Coordinate technical topics within the team and collaborate with customers using agile or safety-critical standards.

Requirements

• Completed degree or comparable education in computer science or information technology.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with object-oriented programming, scripting languages, and embedded software development.
• Experience working with both Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong awareness of quality assurance and maintaining high software standards.
• Solid understanding of test automation.
• Experience with DevOps tools including GitLab, Git, and Jenkins.
• Agile mindset, creativity in developing software solutions, and excellent communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with GUI test automation.
• Strong German skills.
