Data Scientist Apprenticeship - Level 6 - Media Tech (AI)

Location: London Broadcasting House; candidates must live within a commutable distance of the role. At least one study day per week is remote, and training may involve travel to locations across the UK.

Salary: £24,650 plus £5,441 London Weighting.

What you will do

• Build reports from existing data tables and learn how data informs organisational decisions.
• Develop storytelling skills and present findings that turn numbers into insight.
• Contribute to audience insights, internal tooling, and workflow improvements using AI and machine learning approaches.
• Learn and contribute across the data science lifecycle, including data cleansing, validation, predictive model building, evaluation, and production deployment.
• Study toward a BSc (Hons) in Data Science, covering artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, data infrastructure and tools, and data visualisation and dashboards.

Requirements

• Be aged 18 or over by the apprenticeship start in September 2027.
• Have lived continuously in the UK for the three years before the apprenticeship starts and be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the full 36-month duration.
• Be a non-graduate, not currently enrolled in another apprenticeship, and not already hold a qualification in the same subject at the same or a higher level.
• Have maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above, National 5 at C, or an equivalent qualification.
• Have achieved or expect to achieve at least 104 UCAS points by the start of the scheme, including A Level/Higher Maths, an extended BTEC in Engineering with Engineering Maths, or an equivalent qualification.
• Show passion for maths, data, machine learning, and AI, and enthusiasm for adopting AI and machine learning technologies responsibly.
• Demonstrate problem-solving, organisation, negotiation, flexibility, adaptability, deadline management, and a calm, focused approach.
• Have an interest in the hirify.global, its public service mission, and its values.
