Senior Software Engineer, Developer Enablement (Ruby on Rails)

What you will do

• Plan, design, and implement improvements to the public API, webhooks, and Developer Portal.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers on feature architecture and delivery.
• Build well-tested, maintainable, and performant software, including prototypes and technical spikes.
• Set API standards and guide API design and reviews across hirify.global.
• Improve developer experience through documentation, examples, sandbox environments, and tooling.
• Prepare the API for safe use by AI assistants and agents, support integration partners, and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 2+ years of experience with ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Experience building full-stack web-based systems and features.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining public REST APIs, including OAuth or similar authentication, versioning, rate limiting, and OpenAPI documentation.
• Experience with webhooks, event-driven systems, or third-party integrations.
• Experience working closely with a product team to architect solutions.
• Strong attention to detail in API design, consistency, and documentation; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience writing unit, integration, and API tests.
• Applications must mention “coffee”.

Nice to have

• Experience with developer portals, SDKs, or AI tooling.
