Staff Engineer (Enterprise Systems)

What you will do

• Own architecture, design decisions, and technical direction for Enterprise Systems.
• Lead multiple initiatives while balancing delivery with long-term platform health.
• Partner with business stakeholders, Product, Engineering, and Security to define and prioritize quarterly work.
• Plan, architect, and review complex systems and workflows; identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Contribute directly to the codebase and collaborate with Tech Leads and developers to deliver projects.
• Promote maintainability, reliability, security, operational excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience using a modern technology stack including Ruby on Rails, React, JavaScript, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
• Deep experience designing, building, and maintaining high-scale web applications, backend integrations, and SaaS systems.
• Strong system design skills, including reasoning about trade-offs, risk, and long-term impact.
• Experience with high-quality engineering practices such as testing, observability, security, and performance.
• Ability to lead ambiguous or complex problem spaces from discovery through delivery and partner with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborative approach focused on helping teams grow, building trust, and supporting psychological safety.

Nice to have

• Experience or interest in platform, infrastructure, security, or domain-critical systems.
• Practical experience or strong interest in using AI to improve engineering productivity.
