Senior Software Engineer, Workforce Payments (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, New York, New York, United States.

Salary: $188,000–$242,000 per year, based in the New York City office.

What you will do

• Own large-scale projects from discovery through launch, focusing on business outcomes and customer impact.
• Build and scale the core computation layer for payroll, money movement, tax calculations, and payroll data interfaces.
• Improve the performance, reliability, scalability, testing, monitoring, and continuous deployment of existing systems.
• Add capabilities to high-volume, fault-tolerant processing infrastructure and improve financial ledger integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to solve customer challenges and support technical decision-making.
• Provide technical leadership through knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and engineering excellence.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of professional hands-on experience.
• Mastery of modern server-side programming languages.
• Proficiency with SQL and cloud infrastructure management, preferably AWS.
• Experience supporting and mentoring engineers and acting as a force multiplier.
• Experience working closely with designers and product managers.
• Ability to build, deploy, and maintain large-scale, complex applications.
• Experience or ability to work with Golang, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, MySQL, Kafka, AWS, Git, Memcache, Redis, Elasticsearch, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, CircleCI, and DataDog.

Nice to have

• Golang experience is a plus but not required.
