Assistant Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid, onsite Tuesday–Thursday in Maple Plain, Minnesota, United States

Salary: USD 159,700–205,300 per year

What you will do

• Oversee SEC reporting, consolidated financial statements, disclosures, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across global entities, including consolidations, foreign currency translation, eliminations, and segment reporting.
• Direct corporate accounting operations, treasury, banking relationships, cash management, and investment activities.
• Lead external audit relationships, Audit Committee reporting, SOX compliance, internal control testing, assessment, and remediation.
• Drive process improvements, automation, financial systems enhancements, and modern accounting and reporting practices.
• Lead and develop accounting team members, support succession planning, and contribute to M&A, technical accounting, and strategic finance initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a strong foundation in a publicly traded company environment, and 5+ years managing accounting teams.
• Significant SEC reporting experience, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings, plus deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Demonstrated SOX compliance experience, including design and evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting, inventory management, standard costing, and margin analysis.
• Experience leading financial close processes and managing complex, multi-entity consolidations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, collaboration, leadership, and talent-development skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.
• Due to ITAR regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals granted refugee or asylee status. Temporary visa holders are not eligible.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Accounting, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree.
• Active CPA license.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or consumer goods environments.
• Public accounting experience with a Big Four or national firm.
